The Stallone-directed fourth installment of the RAMBO series has scene-after-scene of jaw-dropping carnage and mayhem that make SAVING PRIVATE RYAN look like a West Hollywood slap-fight.

Unfortunately -- though understandably -- distributors tend to insist that their movies have at least an 80-minute run-time. So, the official release of RAMBO is padded-out to the mandatory time minimum with a bunch of silliness about missionaries.

Thanks to modern technology however, I was able to put together a cut of RAMBO that distills the movie down to its essence. Enjoy!

Recorded between LEGENDARY HEARTS and NEW SENSATIONS -- which incidentally was the same time that Lou’s fans figured out that if the 1970‘s didn’t kill him, the 80‘s sure as f*** couldn’t -- Lou wrote LITTLE SISTER as a one-off that was used in the closing credits of the cult-classic, GET CRAZY!.

The movie, directed by Allan Arkush of ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HIGH SCHOOL fame, is criminally unavailable on home video, and no soundtrack was ever released. In it, Lou plays Auden, a reclusive Bob Dylanesque character who (among others) is tapped to play a show for the closing night of a Fillmore West-type venue. The gag is that his cab driver gets lost en route, and Lou/Auden misses the show --- arriving in time to play one song for the venue owner’s younger sister after the rest of the crowd has filed out.

While not an “important” part of his ouvre, LITTLE SISTER is a charming song that’s representative of his work during this era, when he put aside his Rock n Roll Animal persona, adopted a healthier lifestyle, and began writing about the simpler pleasures of domestic life.

Click the image to the left to watch the performance from GET CRAZY!, or click here to download the song.
